Hi, I’m Nicola

Hi I’m Nicola and I’m a documentary wedding photographer and videographer or as I like to put it, a creative story teller. I use my camera to document and record beautiful weddings all over the UK and world wide.

How it all started

I set up my Bristol wedding photography business in 2014. Before then I had been working in insurance for 8 years and I knew my heart longed for something more meaningful; so in 2012 I took the bold decision to study photography part-time whilst still working with the hope that one day my hobby would turn into my career.

It was only a matter of months after setting up my business before I became full time and I have been a self-employed ever since. Fast forward to today, more than six years later and I have had the honour of shooting many weddings each year since the beginning.

I still consider weddings as my main gig and as my business has grown and adapted so has my passion for story telling and really capturing emotion this has naturally led me into pursuing being a wedding videographer and documentary film maker. Since I started offering this it has taken my business to a whole new level.

That being said over the years and through various people that I have met along the way I have also been offered all sorts of interesting projects and commissions for both photography & Videography so these days I don’t limit myself to just weddings and I do a lot of commercial work as well behind the scenes.

I am still thankful every day to be doing something that I truly love and even during some of the difficult months during the pandemic I was fortunate enough to have still been able to do some form of photography work. I am of course grateful that weddings are back and I can’t wait to be celebrating with you all again!

My goal isn’t to win awards or get thousands of likes. It is simply to tell your story and give you images and films that will make you smile for many years to come.

Couples generally choose me to photography their wedding as they love my laid-back easy-going nature. They know I will try and make it fun, help them relax, and let them be themselves. I won’t ask them to stare into my camera or do any awkward posing.

A lot of my couples say they feel uncomfortable in front of a camera, don’t worry I understand as I feel the same! Feeling this way has helped me develop little ways to help you relax, getting you to interact with each other, playing fun games and creating those natural but stylish photos.

My alternative wedding style will allow you to enjoy your wedding day but will ultimately leave you with stunning, creative unique images.

If you like how I work then please get in contact. I would love to hear from you.

I live in Bristol with my boyfriend Christian and our rather spoiled cat Tigger (the destroyer). He is our naughty little ball of fur who has somehow turned us into crazy cat owners (I never thought it would happen but it did, if you have a cat you will understand!).

We love the outdoors and on days off you will generally find us by a beach or getting lost, exploring the middle of nowhere in our VW Camper van. We are hoping one day Tigger will want to come along too so we don’t have to leave him behind. Adventure Cat training has begun!

My favourite things in the world are traveling, meeting new people, and experiencing new cultures. I also love going to the occasional festival, I don’t get many weekends off but I do try to go to Glastonbury most years, living so close to Somerset it would be rude not to.

I would love to hear all about your love story so far and what you have planned for your special day.

Feel free to ask me any questions you may have. You can either fill out this form or contact me directly.

I’m excited to hear from you!
