FAQ’s
I set up Image Paradise in 2014 after previously training and assisting with some of the best wedding photographers in the industry. Since then I have shot many wedding each year with the number continuing to increase.
Don’t worry, I totally understand and most of my couples feel this way. I have developed little tricks to help you relax and be yourselves which in turn allows me to take natural photos.
Yes of course even though I am primarily a documentary photographer, I understand that you want some nice photos of you with your family and friends. I will always ask you for a list in advance so I know on the day what shots to get. I will also ask you to nominate someone who can help me round people up whilst I am taking the photo’s this way we can get them done quickly allowing you to enjoy the rest of your day.
Don’t worry we will still get amazing images, some of my most creative shots have been in the rain.
Also if it rains, it generally doesn’t rain all day so hopefully we will get a chance to go outside at some point. If not I always bring some form of lighting with me so worse case scenario we can set up a little area inside and still get the photos that you need.
Absolutely, if you would like to meet me before booking I would be more than happy to meet up for a coffee and go over your wedding plans. It’s a great way to get to know each other and you can ask any questions you might have and I can show you some more of my work.
If you aren’t local to Bristol then we can always talk on the phone or zoom but this isn’t essential if you are happy to book now we will arrange to catch up later before the wedding.
Yes I am fully covered as a professional photographer. I not only make sure my equipment is covered I also have public liability, employers liability and professional indemnity cover.
I would have to be very ill not to turn up to your wedding but if the worse does happen then I am part of a group of emergency wedding photographers. This gives me a chance to try and find a few people who could step in at short notice. I would always give you a choice as to whether you wanted that person to photograph your wedding and if not I would obviously issue a full refund but I would do my very best to not leave you without anyone.
I own six working cameras in total as well as a few play cameras. I started as a Nikon girl and mainly still use Nikon for photos today but I have some Sony cameras as well that I tend to use more for video. It may seem strange separating my kit but this allows me to have multiple backups and the colour science is quite similar between them allowing me to keep a consistent editing style.
As for lenses, I tend to use primes but have a few high end zoom lenses as well.
Absolutely all love is beautiful and I totally support the LGBQ community. I don’t have many examples on my website as I haven’t shot a huge amount but there are some on there.
It will be myself photographing your wedding unless you have selected a package that includes a second photographer. A second photographer can be added on to any wedding photography package and highly recommend it for larger weddings. Please enquire for more details.
Booking Questions
Travel is included within England and Wales. If you are getting married in Scotland, Ireland or abroad, then we can work out reasonable travel costs. I love to travel and shoot at new venues so will happily go anywhere for the perfect wedding.
To secure your wedding date and finalise our agreement, I ask for a non refundable booking fee of £200 (or £250 if both photo and film) and a contract to be signed. The remainder of the balance is then due six weeks before your wedding date. If you wish to spread the cost and pay by instalments then please ask at the time of booking. I will not be able to hold the date until this has been paid.
My preferred payment is by bank transfer, however I can take a debit or credit card payment.
I understand weddings are expensive and everyone has a different budget. This is why I offer shorter coverage, discounts for some weekday weddings, out of season dates and last minute bookings. I would love to shoot your wedding if I can so let me know the requirements and I will see if it’s possible to accommodate you.
After the wedding
Usually it will take between 6-12 weeks depending on the time of year and my work schedule. However I will start editing ASAP and will give you a small first look of your images within a few days of your wedding to keep you going.
Once your photo’s have been edited, I upload them to a private secure online gallery. Here you can view and download your images as many times as you need, your even welcome to share the password and allow your friends and family to download them as well.
Your online viewing gallery will be available for 2 years after the delivery date so you can download the files as many times as you need. After this time it is your responsibility to keep hold of the images as I may not be able to guarantee to be able to retrieve them.
Some of my packages already come with prints or an album however if you didn’t select one of those collections you are more than welcome to order after the wedding. They make great wedding gifts or anniversary presents.
As the photographer I will always own the copy right to the images however I am happy to allow you prints rights. This means you can share the images with family and friends as long as it is for personal use. Any commercial use, is excluded however if you would like to enter the images for competitions or publication this is something we can look at doing together, I am always happy for you to do this as long as they give me the credit.
