Cotswolds Hotel & Spa wedding photography | A beautiful wedding venue in Chipping Norton
The Venue
The Cotswolds Hotel & Spa is a fantastic wedding venue, set on the grounds of a golf course in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. The venue has over a hundred modern hotel rooms spread over two floors with views over the spectacular golf course.
The venue is licenced for up to 200 wedding guests and hosts the wedding ceremony and reception in a marquee. The light airy marquee attached to the back of the main building has ample space to accommodate all your guests and gives a lovely countryside feel to your wedding, just what you would expect when getting married in the Cotswolds region. This whole area is a wedding photographers dream but the venue offers something unique and special so is definitely worth checking out.
Bride Getting Ready
On the morning of the wedding, Jo was getting ready in one of the rooms at the hotel. Many of her family and friends were already there with her and the vino had been opened as they all got ready doing hair and makeup.
The wedding morning is a great chance for me to grab some detail shots of the wedding shoes and dress before the bride puts them on.
Boys getting ready
As the boys were also getting ready at the same venue it was easy for me to include groom prep and get some photos of them as well before the ceremony started.
The hotel gave them a room on a different floor as not to risk anyone bumping into each other. It didn’t take long for the lads to get ready as they were all keen to get to the bar and have a few drinks before hand. I followed them and captured a few relaxed posed photos on the balcony with the golf course in the background before leaving them to great any guests that were starting to arrive.
The Ceremony
The wedding ceremony at the Cotswold hotel & spa is held inside a marquee which gives beautiful natural light.
One of the important bits of capturing the Cotswolds hotel & spa wedding photography is the ceremony. The little flower girls made their entrace as they appeared from behind the curtain all dressed up in their little matching white bridesmaid’s dresses. They were led holding hands with their nan as the crowd cheered them on. Jo followed shortly after arm in arm with her dad.
Jo and Dougie were such a fun couple and even during what should be a nervous moment their humour and smiles captured some lovely moments throughout the ceremony.
After the ceremony
After the ceremony, the guests threw confetti as the bride and groom left the marquee. We then went onto the grass for a big group photo of everyone who attended. The venue allowed me to go onto a balcony of one of the bedrooms so I was able to get a birdseye view which always makes the best group shots as you can see everybody clearly.
We then kept the immediate family close by so we could work our way through the group list and also do some fun shots with their friends.
Couple photos on the golf course
Golf course weddings make such great wedding photos and are always a photographers dream. Dougie got to drive a golf buggy as I followed on in another one behind.
We stopped at several great spots throughout the golf course at the Cotswolds hotel and spa wedding venue grounds so we could take photos with varioius backgrounds.
The couple were such good fun and we capture a range of beautiful moments and fun silly ones as well.
The speeches
Heading back to the marquee, all the guests had already gone inside so the bride and groom made their entrance to everyone applauding.
The wedding breakfast was served shortly after. This is the only time throughout the day that I won’t take any photos as no-one ever likes food around their chops and I can guarantee these photos would never make the wedding album.
Speeches were held afterwards and were very funny. I managed to capture some lovely images of the guests laughing as the bride and groom were full of various emotions from embarrassment to tears from the bride.
The evening do
After a short break and time to cool off outside the evening doo started with the couple cutting the cake. It was then lights down and first dance. The couple were watched on by their guests as they swung around the dance floor to their favourite song.
As it was summer and the sun didn’t go down until late I rounded the night off with a lovely sunset shot before leaving them to enjoy the rest of the evening.
