Orchardleigh estate is one of our favourite local venues as a wedding photographer. The grounds are stunning and it really is a photographers dream. There are a variety of backdrops within a stones throw of the main house and lots of outdoor space for everyone to enjoy.
The beautiful manicured gardens of the Estate provide endless wedding photo opportunities whether you are looking for family portraits to treasure or stunning couple photographs to hang on your wall. The diverse scenes in all directions makes this an ideal choice for brides planning a fairy tale wedding.

Did you know we also offer wedding videography at Orchardleigh house? This can be added with a photography package or just videography by itself. We offer cinematic style wedding films. Our films tell the story of your day using the audio taken from the ceremony and speeches to craft your unique film. planning a wedding at ORCHARDLEIGH ESTATE
If you are planning a Somerset wedding then the Orchardleigh Estate is a popular choice. Located near Frome and just 10 miles from Bath. The Grade II listed Victorian stately home sits on 500 acres of Estate and hosts a lake, 13th Century church on it’s own island and even a golf course.
The main house can accommodate indoor or outdoor weddings with exclusive use for up to 160 guests. There is also plenty of onsite accommodation with 40 rooms on offer allowing up to 80 guests to stay. There is further accommodation at the Castle and Temple boat house for the bride and groom.
The family owned estate also offers a range of luxury services if you wish to arrive in style. This includes their own fleet of wedding cars, a helicopter to fly you over the grounds, or Gondola ride across the lake.

Outdoor wedding Ceremonies
If you are looking for an outdoor wedding ceremony then The Belvedere is by far one of the most stunning settings Somerset has to offer. The perfect outdoor terrace has beautiful views as far as you can see of the rolling Countryside. As an Orchardleigh wedding photographer, it’s always a dream to photograph weddings in such a unique picturesque setting.
Other Ceremony options
If the weather is bad then the main hall will accommodate indoor weddings. Perfect all year round but ideal for winter weddings. It has large open fires to keep your guests warm and provides a cosy ambiance. The ornate windows in the great hall provide natural light.
There are other ceremony options on the Estate. If you desire a church wedding, they have their own church based in the middle of an island. There are two further parish churches in the surrounding local villages. I’m still yet to photograph a traditional church wedding on the estate so if you are getting married in one of the churches, I would love to hear from you.
Another option is Elmhay park which is located on the estate but is a separate venue entirely. It has a stunning walled garden can also host indoor and outdoor weddings. Check out this wedding film I shot at Elmhay park.
ACCOMMODATION at ORCHARDLEIGH House
Orchardleigh House can accommodate up to 87 guests in 41 bedrooms where guests can stay and get ready if they arrived early.
Further Accommodation is also available the night before at Orchardleigh Castle. Here the bride and her bridesmaids can start getting ready before moving over to the bridal suite. The bridal suite in the main house is located on the first floor and provides the bride a grand entrance when walking down the feature stair case into the main hall.
The Ballroom
The grand ballroom is where the wedding breakfast and speeches are held. This room has a warm gold glow with cosy ambient lighting. The room is elegantly dressed with round tables and centre pieces.
Evening Entertainment
After the wedding breakfast guests are invited to kick off the evening with drinks reception at the bar before this room is made over for a seating area that over looks the dance floor. This is when the party really gets started and celebrations continue into the night with a DJ playing tunes.
CREATIVE Night Portraits
One of my favourite things as an Orchardleigh wedding photographer is to capture some creative night portraits of you using off camera flash. It’s something I am well known for and often a reason why couples ask me to photograph their wedding. You may also want to consider a sparkler exit when night falls as this can be a fun way to get your guests talking and give you one last chance to celebrate with a send off.
