VENUE GUIDE
Looking for your Priston Mill wedding photographer? I’ve got you covered.
Priston mill an idyllic somerset wedding venue
Priston Mill located on the outskirts of Bath offers two fantastic wedding venues to choose from, the Water Mill and The Tythe Barn.
As a Bath and Somerset wedding photographer, Priston Mill is a regular hot spot and somewhere I always look forward to returning.
I’ve been capturing weddings there for a number of years and I have had the privilege of photographing and filming weddings here all year around.
I have created this venue guide to showcase my wedding portfolio and share real weddings that will help inspire couples looking to get married there.
I offer both wedding photography and wedding videography at Prison Mill. This can be either be as a joint package with both services or booked individually.
Priston Mill Wedding photography
Choosing an experience Priston Mill wedding photographer that has worked at the venue many times certainly has its advantages. Time on a wedding day is precious and I know how important it is for you to spend as much of that time as possible with your loved ones. Achieving great couple photos and stunning wedding photography doesn’t need to take a huge amount of time. In fact this is often why couples book me as they know I am great at putting people at ease and producing natural images without taking over their wedding day.
I have been photographing weddings at Priston Mill for many years. It is a popular wedding venue which offers a unique experience for its guests. There are many photo opportunities within its grounds, you only need to take a short walk to be greeted with many different backdrops.
The large enclosed garden never fails to disappoint. No matter what time of the year you go, there are many features to take advantage of. Best of all it is an exclusive use venue meaning the bride and groom with their wedding party have access throughout the whole day. This means we can take full advantage of the light and chase the sun as it moves around at different times. I often like to split couples sessions into smaller chunks for example after the ceremony, during sunset and again when it gets dark.
If you are looking for wedding photography at Priston mill and need some inspiration on where to have your wedding photos taken then check out my guide to couple portraits below.
Photographers guide to couple portraits
Couple portraits are often one of the things that couples dread. They know that they want some nice photos together but fear they are too uncomfortable in front of the camera or think trying to be romantic will be awkward. Don’t worry if this is you, you are not alone and I have totally got you. I try to make the sessions fun, I get you to interact, walk, talk, be your regular selves. Your connection will do the rest and I will capture natural photographs of you together.
Part of choosing the right wedding photographer is also being reassured that they have plenty of experience. Having an eye for detail, knowledge of composition, lighting and being able to scout out the best locations is exactly why you should hire a professional wedding photographer such as myself.
I can gently guide you to all the best locations and lucky for you Priston Mill has plenty. Check out my list below of some of my favourite spots to take couples.

Priston Mill Wedding ceremonies
Outdoor wedding ceremony
If weather is on your side, the garden makes a beautiful setting for an outdoor wedding. The chairs are positioned either side creating an aisle leading to the pagoda where the legal ceremony takes place. Guests can watch on as you say your vows to this stunning backdrop.
Indoor Ceremony
The top floor of the watermill is used for an indoor wedding ceremony. The white stone pained Mill has a light airy feel with several windows. Accessible by stairs of a purpose build lift to ensure it is obtainable for all guests.
After the ceremony
Confetti shot
Everyone loves a classic confetti shot but the key to a good confetti shot is providing lots of it for your guests to throw. Luckily Priston Mill is a venue that allow confetti and I have photographed it both indoors and out. Please check with the venue on their latest rules but it’s always advisable to buy biodegradable confetti. If you really want your photos to pop then I can highly recommend confetti by flutterdarlings. Check out their website or instagram page and you will see what I mean it’s so much better than regular confetti.
Fun, relaxed natural wedding photos
Part of a wedding day is capturing the bride and groom with some of their favourite people. However this doesn’t need to be too formal and although I will ask for a list of any shots you would like I still try to capture these in a way that is
Capturing the details
As a Priston Mill wedding photographer, I will capture all the little details that make up part of your wedding day. This includes table decor, the room setting and much more. I am to capture all of this before you go inside for your wedding breakfast.
