Hatherley Manor is A Fantastic hotel and spa wedding venue in GLOUCESTER
The large Country hotel is set in its own beautiful grounds with a variety of locations and backdrops for your wedding photographs.
As a Hatherley Manor wedding photographer, it is always a joy to return to this stunning venue. The staff are always friendly and accommodating and no matter what time of year you choose to get married it always has something special to offer.
I created this guide to share my experiences and insights having got to know the venue and grounds very well. This will be helpful for couples considering getting married at Hatherley Manor.
I offer both wedding photography and wedding videography at Hatherley Manor. This can be either be as a package with both services or booked separately.
About the hotel
The hotel has three different wedding suites to choose from, these range in sizes and can hold the largest or smallest of wedding ceremonies. They also have facilities to host outdoor weddings if the weather permits.
The flexibility this hotel offers is great, your wedding can be tailored to suit your needs. You can hire one of the three suites or you have the option of using different rooms for different parts of the day. All rooms feature their own bar but guests are also free to use the main bar in the hotel as well this is particularly great for winter weddings when people are more likely to be inside.
PHOTOGRAPHS IN THE GROUNDS
The grounds are a photographers dream and offer a variety of backdrops whether using parts of the building itself or the lovely gardens. The front garden is laced with stunning old trees and a pretty pathway ideal for those natural greenery shots. The rear has a secret enclosed walled garden with exposed brickwork.
THE BRIDAL SUITE
The bridal suite is the perfect place for getting ready with it’s pink pastel colours that compliment a brides white dress. The large room has plenty of space for all your bridesmaids to get ready together during the morning preparations. The room is located upstairs and is just a short walk to any of the ceremony rooms.
THE MOAT SUITE
The Moat suite is the smallest of the three wedding rooms available to host your indoor ceremony. The popular room can still hold up to 100 guests for the ceremony and wedding breakfast combined. The pretty room has exposed brickwork and is neutrally decorated. It has its own bar to the side which remains closed until after the ceremony when the room gets turned around for the wedding breakfast.
This suite has private access to the secret walled garden at the rear.
I have used this room to take indoor family photos when it’s been raining and the stunning wall makes a great backdrop for any winter wedding where it’s not possible to get outside.
THE WALLED GARDEN
The walled garden is a Hatherley Manor wedding photographer’s dream. It leads out from the Moat suite and is a secret enclosed garden for private use of your guests. Outdoor ceremonies can be also be held here in the summer which makes a lovely picturesque setting.
The large lawned garden offers a large space with outdoor seating area and grass for the children to play games on.
THE MULBERRY SUITE
The Mulberry suite holds the same capacity as the Moat suite but is slightly larger. This room is neutrally decorated making it easy to add your own touches and decorations when planning your wedding.
The room is situated at the front of the property and over looks the beautiful lawns. It also has its own garden area for exclusive use for your guests. A mobile horse box bar is great in the summer time which can be used for Prosecco, rum or gin bar.
OTHER INFO
The hotel also has the Hatherley suite which can host very large weddings with upto 400 guests for the ceremony or 300 for the wedding breakfast. This isn’t a room I have photographed in yet but it is ideal for any large wedding.
