Rain didn’t spoil this wedding at St Mary’s church Yate!
When I first spoke with Laura she told me how she planned to marry Christian at St Mary’s church Yate. They both currently in live in Petersborough but Laura wanted to come home to Bristol where she grew up to be closer to family and friends.
Starting at St Mary’s church Yate I took a few pictures before people started to arrive. It wasn’t long before Christian was there with his ushers to hand out orders of service to his guests.
Awaiting the brides arrival the predicted rain started making it a rather wet entrance for Laura and her bridesmaids. With plenty of umbrellas ready they braved the short walk through the church garden.
Laura’s brother walked her down the aisle where her father was waiting for her. Unable to manage the long walk he still wanted to be part of his daughters special day and stood up to give his blessing and pass her hand to the vicar.
The church ceremony with three readings and hymns was slightly longer than most. The rain however was still hammering down by the time it had finished. Knowing this we had little option but to take the family formals inside.
Churches are not ideal for group pictures as the lighting is often very poor. The rain didn’t stop this young couple though from venturing outside and we managed to shoot some fun shots in the rain before heading to the reception venue.
At Stanshawes Court the guests ate before speeches. Christian joked looking out the window the rain was fate. He explained that the day he had met Laura was exactly the same. Regardless though no amount of rain would dampen their day.
Later we took some images on the beautiful stairwell before heading outside due to a small break in the weather. Laura & Christian are such a great couple it’s clear to see from the photo’s how much fun they have together.
