Sarah & Paul’s wedding at the hare & hounds

Surrounded by all their favourite people on a sunny spring day. Sarah & Paul’s wedding was filled with laughter and true happiness.
A beautiful wedding at the Hare & Hounds, Tetbury
Getting married in the Cotswolds is always a dream, but the Hare and Hounds near Tetbury is truly something special. Nestled in a picturesque Gloucestershire village and just a stoneโs throw from the famous Westonbirt Arboretum, this venue offers a stunning mix of countryside charm and timeless elegance.
The Hare and Hounds itself is a beautiful period building full of character. Its gorgeous gardens make the perfect backdrop for wedding photography, and I always love returning here.
It was an absolute pleasure to photograph Sarah and Paulโs wedding at this lovely venue. I first met Sarah when she was a bridesmaid at Angela and Stephenโs wedding last year, so it was extra special to be asked to capture her big day. Thereโs something really rewarding about being referred by a past coupleโespecially when the new bride and groom have already seen me in action and connected with my work.
The day started at Sarah and Paulโs home, where bridal preparations were in full swing. Sarah got ready surrounded by her family and bridesmaids, and there was such a calm, joyful energy in the house.
A gorgeous vintage car arrived to whisk Sarah away to the venue. She was full of emotion as she made the short journeyโthose final moments before the ceremony always feel so magical.
Once reunited with Paul at the end of the aisle, the couple couldnโt stop smiling. Their happiness lit up the room and made photographing the ceremony such a joy. Afterward, we took advantage of the gardens for some relaxed couple portraitsโand those big smiles never left their faces.
We were incredibly lucky with the weather. The sun shone all afternoon, giving guests the chance to enjoy drinks outdoors. It was so bright, in fact, that I had to find some shade for the family group shots to avoid those harsh midday shadowsโone of the few “problems” weโre always happy to have!
During the speeches, Sarahโs dad reminded everyone of a running jokeโthat if Paul married his daughter, heโd buy him a car. True to his word (sort of!), he presented Paul with a toy car, which had everyone in stitches.
As the sun began to dip, guests headed back outside to enjoy the golden hour. We finished up the remaining group photos and had a fun confetti moment that we hadnโt had time for earlier in the day.
Although Sarah and Paul didnโt plan a formal first dance, they were soon on the dance floor, partying the night away with their guests. It was a perfect end to a truly beautiful day.
If you’re planning your wedding at the Hare and Houndsโor anywhere in the CotswoldsโIโd love to hear from you. Get in touch and letโs chat about how I can capture your day.
